God is LOVE

Im sitting in the bus watching the road pass by as the wind blows in through the windows. We have been on this road for about one hour, it seems as if it’s getting longer as it opens into big openness of Alabama fields & trees. Road are a little bumpy as construction is taking this whole place to a different level. Ok enough on describing whats going on at this given moment.

We played a show last night in Birmingham AL. Which was really awesome cool. There was about 70 people there, we really had a great time. We got to hang with some of the peeps there from Birmingham and really got to talk and share cool stories about our life back home and what they did in bham AL.

So I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and praying the past few days about the Love of Christ. We have no idea how much He loves us. I think we get a religious picture on how the Love of God really is. I think our views of Love is so distorted in religion and world corruption that we take that view and use it as how God loves us.
There are two sides of a line… On one side is all of what us life long Christians have grown up learning about the church and Christianity. Then there is the other side, that new baby Christians are learning as we speak. Its the Christianity that is so watered down and comfort committed, which means it all good if we are comfortable but once it gets uncomfortable its no good and we buck it. Both sides are nothing but religion, what we say is “real”, is watered down and not the real 1st century church. Its all about us and what we can get out of God, instead of falling at His feet and worshiping weather we get something out of Him or not. Its a lifestyle that says, God Im open and willing to do what you wish with my life weather I like it or not. Its about YOU and what you want for me! We become so selfish and self-centered that our so called “calling” is just our own desires in life. Its all about US and not about HIM. As long as we like it and can do something that benefits us we are cool with it! It’s a messed up mind set to the one who gave up everything so that Him and I would never be apart. He wanted nothing but the best for us that HE gave up everything, HE LOVED! Then the Center of the line is CHRIST! It’s the real un touched words of life. It’s the the very thing we are all wanting but settle for what we see every Sunday at church. It’s the the thing that fills the whole in our life that people search for a lifetime to find. It’s a true love that every heart longs to feel. Its what satisfies our soul and cleanses all of our iniquity. It shapes our life and gives us a HOPE for eternity! It’s a genuine Love that never gives up and never stops chasing us!

How are we supposed to love other people.
What about the person that you may not be too fond of, or the one who constantly keeps rocking the same stupidity everyday and never moves on or matures in who they are in Christ. I know I fall into that same stupidity sometimes. I know I don’t have it all figured out and I don’t claim to be a lover of man/woman like Christ is. It is honestly very hard to really love like Christ, unconditionally.

Its really ironic that God is working out this whole love thing in my heart when I turned on my ipod to listen to some music as I write this. I wanted to listen to a band called “Sleeping at last”, an amazing band. A song called “Needle & Thread” came on and was completely about LOVE. The chorus says, “all the blood and all the sweat, we invest it to be in love” then it says, “We were made of love”. I know this might be a little different then what I was just talking about, but think of this, we are all wanting to be loved in some way or another, we strived to be certain things and dress certain styles, act certain ways just because we want to be excepted and loved. Now relate this into what we were talking about earlier… If we never give love to except people no one would ever feel loved. This love is such a surface love, and does not last. If we Love as Christ Loves, which is the only love that never goes away, is patient and kind, not jealous boastful or proud, it is not rude. It doesn’t demand its own way, it is not irritable and never keeps record of being wrong. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever truth wins out. Love never gives up and never loses faith, is always hopeful and endures through every circumstance. (1 Cor. 13:4-7) If we love this way and not get so hung up on the way people act and see through our humanity and screwed up lives maybe we would see bigger change. Maybe we would see our world as we know it be a little like what Christ died for it to be. I struggle with this just as much as any of you do, I want to be better than this. I don’t want to take on this religion and modern day Christianity that humanity has made up, I want the truth of who Christ really is, I want the real love of Christ not our carnal view of love which claims to be real.

Lets set a new standard of living, lets know and love Christ more than anything and let that overflow out of us to set a new world view of love! Lets be the literal hands and feet and LOVE of Christ.

Tues Aug. 12th

Well, here we are on Tuesday the 12th, I just got home from a super long/hard run, its so hot out today, yet breezy when youre running. Quite nice! I hope everyone is doing well. We did a d-now this past weekend, it was pretty awesome and God did some great things in our lives and in those students!

So I got a little something to share with you guys. I am originally from Dallas Tx, grew up there and never have really moved away from there. My family currently lives there. When God told me to move to Tyler Tx I was pretty shocked. I loved what Luminate was about and knew God was working there. I felt that was all I needed and God would take care of the rest. Well,, for sure He has taken good good care of me and I have no complaints. One thing I have struggled with is finding a church that I really connect with. we are on the road all the time, it is really hard to be really connected somewhere.

My church back home I was in love with. www.gatewaypeople.com... I had no idea what I was going to do to replace that when I moved to Tyler. I really haven't found that yet,, but God is teaching me that its not about the church you go to and the people you hang around. It about your personal time with me. It the times that you and I get in intimate relationship together so He can use and breathe life in my heart. In all of this, I've been watching this podcast from my home church that has really kept me fed spiritually. Its seriously amazing,, Im in the middle of this series called "about God". Its just learning about who God is and taking our perception of God and throwing out, cause our perception limits us to see God really work in our lives. If we constantly have this perception about God and how big He is, we limit how much He can do in our lives, people around us, and our ministry, ect.!

The last message was about the paralyzed man in Luke 5:17-26. People would pass by this Paralyzed man everyday. This man couldn't move for nothing. He was PARALYZED!! People would probably make fun and thought of this man as a reject. They didn't care, they walked by him everyday and did nothing for him. Until these men thought, there is something we can do for this man. These men knew Jesus was in town teaching and healing. So they decided to pick this man up on his rest mat and take it to Jesus. As the story says, the house Jesus was in was full,, packed with people and they couldn't fit the man inside to see Jesus. So they went back out and conjured a plan to lower this man in from the roof. I can imagine as they were making this hole in the roof that people we freaking out a little, and possibly thinking what the heck. Maybe cursing or something because these men are interrupting there meeting with Jesus. They lowered this man in at Jesus' feet and here is what Jesus said. In verse 20 "When He (jesus) saw there faith, He said to him,, "Man, your sins are forgiven". Then verse 24 says, "I say to you arise, take your bed and go to your house".

So if you notice, Jesus said because of "THERE FAITH" man, your sins are forgiven. So not by the paralyzed mans faith but by the men that carried him there, by there faith this man was forgiven and healed. Now think about this, can we have faith enough for God to heal our family, or to heal our friends. Or how about forgive the sins of our friends and family. Who's rest mat can you carry??? Who can you pick up and take to Jesus and by your own faith they are healed and forgiven?? This can seriously rock your world of faith if you really take it to heart and believe that God is bigger than your mind says he is! Dont put God in your box,, let him out, let him show you who he really is and the power he can poor into you to change your life and people around you!

The Podcast I watch,, here is how to get to it. Go to iTunes and search for "Seven" Its apart of Gateway Church, Southlake Tx. Then push subscribe,, and you will get every message Preston Morrison as taught at Seven.
